I 'AM' not; I 'DO'

 ~My Mantra ~

I am not a writer.  I WRITE.

I am not a wife.  I SHARE my life with the man I love.

I am not a mother.  I LOVE my children enough to teach them to be awesome grown-ups.

I am not a super-fit goddess.  I WORK OUT and ENJOY EATING healthy, nutritious foods.

I am not organized.  I STAY ON TOP of my responsibilities.

I am not perfect.  I STRIVE for balance and ACCEPT my humanity.  And I LEARN from my mistakes.

I am not.  I DO.

What's your mantra today?

Good reminder--we can sure do a lot more if none of them owns us, eh?

Maybe it's the opposite way of seeing things, but it's my mantra regardless. "I am not a human 'doing,' I'm a human 'being.'"

I am not a lazy guy on the couch; I prepare myself for the days ahead.

(And, yes, the bag of oreos is a very important part of the preparation plan)

I enjoyed this post. You reminded me that we are beyond labels. We are beings of action. Thank you for that.

Avoiding weak state of being verbs, eh? Very nice. I like it.

Nice!

Mine right now is something in line with the following.

Breathe in. If you're feeling blue, breathe out.

I sometimes forget.

Yes, Nicole, who we "are" and what we "do" are different. I am just now getting in touch with "who I am" without the identity that came with "what I did" (as in my career) for so many years. It's very enlightening.

What a great mantra. I see where your upbeat personality comes from. This is also a great writing exercise for show vs tell. Now, if only I could do that for my characters.

That is a positive mantra to live by
- a great way to look a life.
Angela Felsteds:
"I am not a human 'doing,' I'm a human 'being.'" was special too :D

A good way to start your day. Listen only to the positive voice and ignore all else.

You are one cool Mama and wife, even though you don't use the words. Ha. I don't use mantras like most people do. I chant, sing constantly, and put determination into my core. I guess it all comes out the same.
That cake with the roses on your profile is the most gorgeous piece of edible art I've ever seen. I've never been able to frost a cake and I do soooo applaud you.
Love and peace,
Manzanita

I love this, to take responsibility and not accept a label but to actively do the task at hand.

Great picks! I almost put the Cars and Madonna on mine too! I even wrote them in but knocked them when I found a few others. It's so hard to pick!
