Hey you! Read This (please!)

I’m thrilled to welcome several new followers since the Déjà vu Blogfest sign-ups began. Blogging brings people together and I’ve found some wonderful friendships here on Blogger. That’s why I’m so sad when I can’t follow someone back. Sad smile
Now, I have a personal follow-back policy. If someone finds my humble site interesting enough to follow, I want to extend the same kindness to him or her. The problem arises for me when I click a new follower’s picture on my Google Friend Connect mosaic and, alas! The person hasn’t linked his or her blog to their profile.
Am I describing you? Not sure?? Here’s how you verify:
Find your picture on my Friend Connect mosaic right now. (Or you can go to your own blog and under your About Me, click “View My Complete Profile.” Either action will bring up your Blogger Profile, as others see it. Is your blog linked under “My Blogs?”
If it isn’t, click “Edit Profile” (on left margin, under your profile picture). On the edit page, the third option under “Privacy” is “Show My Blogs.” Click “Select Blogs to Display.” (If you have several blogs that include family blogs, special interest blogs, etc. that you don’t want others to see, only choose your writing blog to display.) Be sure to save your changes.
It’s important to realize that Blogger doesn’t always default to linking your blog on your profile. It’s a great idea to verify that your blog is linked, so people like me can follow you back. Rolling on the floor laughing
And don’t forget to enter the Déjà vu Blogfest! Click the link below the badge on my right sidebar to add your name to Mr. Linky’s list!
School Have a fabulous day! School

Great point. I find that troubling too, although I was never smart enough to think to post about it!

Also, somehow I never followed you. I don't know what that's all about but it's fixed now. :D

Definitely a good shout out. That makes me sad, too.

I think that bird scares me. But don't tell him that.

I confess. I had to check.
Whew! in the clear. All 7 ~ No, wait! All 8 (Glowing with pride now!) of my followers will find that my complete profile does actually link back to me.

I'm still new to this blogging thing. Set it up a few years ago, and then life got in my way. Now I'm back, over the age of 40 and frankly, sometimes my brain just don't work right!

I spent(Well, I'm not even going to tell you how long I spent for fear of mucho embarassment) yesterday trying to figure out "code" and somehow depositing "Html" into my template, which may or may not screw up everything ~ all in my most sincerest efforts to link back to the Deja Vu Blogfest! LOVE that little linky, or whatever it's name is. Still haven't figured it out. Yes, I did actually read the suggestions, which Mr. Linky's Blog actually tried to put this foreign computer language into a more childish blah, blah, blah for me. Still don't get it. Considered the worst, copy and paste, but then how is that supposed to promote?!

I'm in a spot. A tight spot! With this Blog thing. But, alas, I am trudging through it.

Ahem. Sorry to crowd your comment page. Rude.

*Bows appreciatively* for your much needed help. Mean that.

Hello Nicole,
It's been far too long since last I stopped by. Thanks for posting this. I've often wondered how to guide others to do just this very thing! I forgot how I did it :D

Have a wonderful Thursday,
Jen

I had to check once you mentioned it. Thought I had done it but wasn't quite sure. Thanks for posting about it. I'm just glad I never joined WordPress. Some former Blogger friends now with WP who used to visit me a lot think that Blogger is from the dark ages. I don't think so. I've found so many interesting people via Blogger and find it much easier to navigate their blogs and connections with other blogs. When does the Blogfest begin? Guess I'll click on the badge and find out for myself.

I have that difficulty following back too, but I never knew how they could solve that. Thanks for sharing, I'll pass it on.

Amen! I have the same problem and I feel back when I can't return the follow. Once in a while I do a Google search and see if a blog with that icon turns up, but that takes time. If that person leaves a comment, I can follow that way. But half of those little icons in my Google Friends Connect box don't link to any site.

Agree! It's so important to have that in your profile. Crikey that bird's giving me a beady eye - I'm following! I promise! And my profile's OK - I think (gulp)

I've run into that problem, too. Searching sometimes works, but it's a lot easier to click a link in a follower's profile.

Oh, and I just signed up for the Blogfest. :)

Thank you for posting this! I always feel so bad when somebody follows me, but I can't find a way to follow them back!

It's great that you blogged about this. Same thing happens to all of us. Now i'm trying a Disqus commenting system and commenters are not filling out the links (you only have to do it once then it's automatic after that.) Now i can't easily click on a commenter and go back and read their blog. Such a frustrating world we live in huh?
