Farewell to LOST

Tonight airs the series finale of LOST, a television show that has intrigued and entertained me for five years.  I was hooked at the pilot and have never missed an episode.  The writers have created what is, for me, the perfect blend of a character-driven story and a gripping, tension-filled plot that keeps me on the edge of my seat week after week.  I don't want to see it end!

Although I am a huge fan of LOST, I will not be spending my hard earned cash on these marketing products:

(More info HERE, and Ordering through Amazon HERE)

(Order Ben and other bobble head LOST characters HERE)

(Order these action figures or other LOST toys at Amazon HERE)

Me?  I'm going to pass on the merchandise and stick to watching the finale tonight.  However...I may consider buying the LOST series on DVD.  Truth be told, even though I've never missed an episode, I am still rather lost from all the twists and turns the story has taken.  This is one series I look forward to watching again (and again...)!

Hope your weekend is going great!

I've never watched Lost, but I had my reasons. See, I missed the first season and a half. And I heard that it's one of those shows where you really have to pay attention (and not miss episodes) so I decided that I'd wait until the series was over and then watch it on DVD.
So starting this summer I can finally watch Lost and see what all the fuss is about :)

Ah yes I have heard people rave and rave about this! I saw a couple of episodes on TV but never got into it for some reason. Gimme a reason why I should give it another go and perhaps watch the series from the beginning? ;) I'm on the lookout for some TV series' to purchase. (As you can imagine the TV experience here in Greece is quite limited!) Hope you've been having a great weekend! xx

I will be watching with my family tonight. I'm spending most of today preparing for the end. Oh, and thanks for sharing the links for that merchandise. I'll get right on spending my hard-earned dollars on stuff of that caliber.... ;o)

Namaste!

I used to be THE biggest Lost fan but then I got lost and missed a couple shows, now I'm completely lost so what's the point?? Maybe I'll get the DVDs this summer and try to find my way back!! How funny that they have action figures...

AARRGGHH, I'm so sad that LOST is ending that I ALMOST can't bring myself to watch tonight. Almost! Who was your favorite character?

I saw the first LOST and never could follow it after that. It actually makes me feel better that you were still lost even though you didn't miss. Enjoy the finale!

The tie in products are a little creepy.
Never got hooked on the show, but I've been waiting for it to end so I can start from the beginning on Netflix.

My husband has watched since the beginning. I'm not a fan, but the lego figures are hilarious.

I'm a DVD follower of Lost - I can't seem to remember when to watch or how often. I LOVE the series, but I'm excited they're ending it - I hate when series drag on past their prime. (prime being whenever it is I start to loose interest.)

Hi everyone! Thanks for your awesome comments!!

Zoe~ My favorite LOST character is probably Sawyer. His inner conflicts are so deeply rooted in a past he'll never escape, making me understanding and sympathetic towards him and all his actions and reactions. Even when he's being an A-hole :) And, I get a kick out of all the "pet" names he comes up for the others. I also love Kate, mostly because she looks so much like I imagine my 10-yr-old daughter will look one day. If the program needed an actress to play "Kate when she was a kid," I think Sidney could have been cast.

An hour and a half and counting, 'til the finale...!

Oh, me too! Me too! How will I live without him?? Oh, and Locke! PLEASE don't tell me he did all that hoping, and observing, and wondering and believing-- FOR NOTHING!! GAH I hope that's not the way it ends *sigh*

I can't wait for LOST tonight, even though I'm pretty sure I'll be disappointed and most likely still LOST. :)

I haven't watched this (not a single episode -- I'm not much of a TV person), but I've heard many people gushed about it. It sounds like a great series. It's always saddening when a series that's a huge part of your life ends.

Good evil good evil good evil. Are they finally going to tell us how that dang island got there in the first place? I have watched every episode since the first. I am not proud of this, but there it is. I may actually miss the first 20-30 minutes of the finale since I have to go to my daughter's Girl Scout end-of-year picnic. The idea that I'll miss of second is killing me. Where's the Lego Kate?

Oh my goodnes! That's some serious merchandise!! Ha! I've never even seen Lost, but it's so popular, I feel like I know all of the characters just from reading about them. One of these days, I'll have to watch an episode. Bet I'd love it!

I love Lost but I'm also "lost" by all the twists and turns. When my husband and I first discovered Lost while visiting my sister and her husband in Dallas, the four of us stayed up until 2am several nights in a row watching all the past episodes on DVD - we were hooked!

Bahahaha!!! I loved this post! I've never seen Lost but I know a lot of people who love it!

I loved how you showcased all the figurines you could purchase, just to say you aren't going to buy them!!! I enjoyed seeing the different merchandise they have!

Happy Monday!

LOST fan from the beginning! I've only missed one episode (Kate's original flashback).

You'll have to e-mail me about your impressions of the finale...don't want to spoil it for those catching up watching the DVD's (Summer). :)

So were you happy with the ending? I think I am. Jack!

Zoe~ I LOVED the ending! The idea that souls travel together, impacting each other's lives so that life lessons are learned necessary for the evolution of the soul, jives with my personal faith. The "awakening" in the sideways flashes were brilliant and brought tears to my eyes several times. And the pivotal roles Jack and Desmond played in the whole scheme of things was right on, in my book!

What'd you think?

Wasn't it amazing?!

Sigh. I'm a little LOST-obsessed. I'm with you, though -- I won't be spending any money on the bobble-heads or action figures.

I'm definitely going to get the season six dvd, though -- there is supposed to be bonus material with "extra" answers to mysteries that didn't get resolved during the show.

Well, and I might buy a Dharma t-shirt. Because those are just seriously cool.

Did you see Jimmy Kimmel's alternate endings? It was very funny! Worth the watch. I love that the cast participated in it. The first alternate ending was the funniest, in my opinion. The laughter helped take the sting out of the ending a bit.

And I'm totally getting a Dharma coffee mug and t-shirt. I love the logo!
